“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.”
ISAIAH 43:2
ISAIAH 43:2
Many of us have experienced the effects of generational trauma and dysfunction within our families. We want to be free of those effects so as not to pass them down to our children and adopt them as patterns in our relationships. Most of us can identify at least some of our pain...
When we lack the resources (physical, emotional, financial, etc) to identify and care for our pain we find other ways of carrying on. Most often these come in the form of coping mechanisms. These can be helpful or unhelpful but, either way, they do work to keep that original pain tucked safely away. However, the pain never truly goes away. Instead, it responds to triggers from time to time letting us know it is still there.
Our inner healing facilitators are trained through HeartSync Ministries.
Erin currently resides in PEI, Canada and serves on the leadership team of her church. She is also the co-founder of Wind Ministries with her husband Joshua Hoffert.
The partnership between inner healing and spiritual formation has always been a passion and clear calling for me. As a result, I've given myself to the study of both. I am a Qualified HeartSync Facilitator and I have also completed a BA in Psychology from Trinity Western University.

HeartSync Ministries was born from Father Andrew Miller’s work with severely brokenhearted people. During the early 1990s, some of the fundamental procedures in his “Healing the Broken Hearted" model began to emerge as he worked with the different parts of people’s desynchronized hearts. These were the precursors to the current tools he developed and are now taught through HeartSync Ministries' programs.
In 2009, Andrew was ordained as a priest in the Orthodox Evangelical Episcopal Church. He and his wife Lisa subsequently founded HeartSync Ministries in 2010. In recognition of that calling, he was made a Canon Missioner of Healing in 2013. He served as the Founding Director of Tallahassee Healing Prayer Ministries for ten years–a position he left in 2016 to focus fully on HeartSync Ministries. Andrew serves as Chaplain to the Archbishop, Dr. Russell McClanahan.
Father Andrew Miller, LCSW, is the Founder and President of HeartSync Ministries. He has practiced as a professional individual, marriage, and family therapist since 1990.
Matthew 11:28
Isaiah 61:1 sums it up well… “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound” (ESV).
This is where inner healing comes in. Sometimes the pain is too big, too overwhelming to walk out alone. Our desire at Wind Ministries is to walk alongside you and to see those pains acknowledged, validated and ultimately brought before the great healer, Jesus, to been seen, healed, and freed. This process is continuously repeated throughout your heart it will become more and more “bound up” (Is 61:1) and you will find yourself better able to serve and love the Lord with all of your heart!
We believe everyone goes through seasons where inner healing can be of great value. Most of us have behaviours, mind sets, belief structures and pain we want to be free of. Here are some things we think are helpful to consider when deciding if inner healing is right for you:
Part of the healing journey is a loving, supportive community. Do you have people that will be willing to journey with you into wholeness? Willing intercessors will make your time with our facilitator far more valuable. Healing is not always easy, and we all need support.
What do you do when trying harder just doesn't work? For some, it feels as if you are rowing a boat with two broken oars. You put a lot of effort in and get very little result. You end up tired and overwhelmed, unsure of where you went wrong. So how do we help those who seem beyond the help of a simple, disciplined life? We walk with them. This is where HeartSync comes in. When you need to move a boulder, you are going to need help.
Without true honesty healing can never happen. Without honesty, we are like those who look at themselves in a mirror and then immediately forget what they saw. To heal we must be honest with ourselves and with others. We cannot pretend we are put together when Christ told us it was those who recognized their poverty of spirit that would inherit the Kingdom. Honesty, healing, and heart growth are integral to the journey of wholeness.
Simply put, capacity is the ability to maintain a heart connection with the Jesus. At the outset of HeartSync, many lack the capacity to engage with Jesus for any length of time. Capacity is not built in the moment of healing, but in the moments before and after. How do you practice daily holding your heart before God? A little at a time ends up going a long way.
Ask any questions you may have, inquire more about these sessions and find out if it’s the right fit for you before you book.
WE ARE NOT REGISTERED THERAPISTS. However, we do require everyone to fill out an application form before booking an appointment. This gives us an understanding of what a person is dealing with and, if we determine an individuals profile to be beyond our scope of training, we will do our best to help you find a more suitable resource. Our facilitators are trained in the HeartSync Ministries model.
We use the information you provide to determine if we’re a good fit. View our Privacy Policy.
After your application is submitted, we will contact you as soon as possible (via email) with an informational packet and next steps for setting up your appointment. HeartSync Inner Healing costs $150 per session; payable to Wind Ministries at the time of your appointment.
A typical session lasts for about 2 hours and can cover a variety of things. Earlier sessions may focus on maintaining a connection with the heart of Jesus, while later sessions may focus on aspects of our heart that have been wounded, hurt, or damaged.
Generally the facilitator meets with a person every couple of weeks, but could also go a month or two in between sessions. There is no set guideline. It depends upon how much can you handle and what you can process. Typically, an individual is involved with a HeartSync for facilitator for a few months. But it can last longer, especially in cases involving more significant abuse. HeartSync functions somewhere in between counselling and inner healing. At the core of the approach is a good marriage of biblical principles and a modern understanding of neuroscience and trauma.
Healing happens in community. A prayer team can be sensitive to your needs and offer prayer to God for your heart. A good prayer team while you are engaged in the HeartSync journey will be a great aid to the healing process.
Session can either be online using Zoom or in-person at our office, depending on your location. If the session is online, you must have video capabilities.
Prayer and rest. The healing journey is greatly aided as our heart increases in capacity to connect with Jesus. Prayerful exercises can be very helpful for prep work. If you need suggestions, just ask!
Post session work is very important. Always remember that the Lord deals with us tenderly and kindly.
We believe that a worker is worthy of their wages (1 Timothy 5:18) and that an investment into those who are serving the body of Christ will return a worthy reward (Matthew 10:41). In our experience, those who are unwilling to pay for a session will get little out of the ministry. However, we also recognize that not all bank accounts are created equal. We are more than happy to accommodate those who are experiencing financial hardship. Let us know and we will develop a plan to work within your financial situation.
